Sheepwalk Farm 1970
The site at Sheepwalk Farm was located by field-walking and during September 1970 a limited excavation attempted to record the state of preservation at the site which was being heavily damaged by the plough.
A 12m length of walling was exposed in the excavation and amounts of clay which were interpreted as part of a cob or clay wall. The pottery was largely late 3rd and early 4th century with some earlier samian from the site. The plotting of the surface scatters of pottery and building rubble suggested that there were other buildings within the area.
